I've spent the last several years of my career educating the public and raising awareness of the dangers of flavored tobacco products such as vapes. My proudest accomplishment to date is being part of the first state in the nation to launch an anti-flavored tobacco initiative in six languages. Several states have asked to air our commercials which have now sparked a national conversation on the dangers of vaping.
I didn’t need an online quiz (INFJ) or three semesters of nursing school (sorry, mom) to tell me that I have an inborn sense of idealism and morality. But I did it anyway for good measure.
After a short period of pursuing sales, I realized it was not fulfilling my need to behave altruistically. I made the leap and left my cushy corporate role to make an impact on my own community.
As a freelancer, I served as a Campaign Manager and volunteered for several local elections. I was inspired to run for public office. On three occasions I was successfully elected as a 43rd Assembly District Delegate.
By leveraging my ambicultural background and passion for public service, my 10+ year career has included lobbying for public policy throughout California, increasing awareness of public health concerns, and helping increase access to dental care in medically underserved communities throughout the West.
Although I am grateful to have contributed to the well-being of humanity through award-winning cross-cultural marketing campaigns, I've now set my eyes on making a positive impact on one person at a time. My goal is to serve in a position that cultivates the potential in others. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management and Leadership at Pepperdine University to achieve this.
